Coaching Agreement

This Coaching Agreement outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and guidelines for our work together. By entering this agreement, we are choosing to commit to a supportive, professional, and collaborative coaching relationship.

1. Coaching Relationship

You are entering into this coaching relationship with the understanding of my coaching credentials and professional standards, which are listed on my website and aligned with the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.

Coaching is a collaborative, client-centered process. I will support you in identifying, refining, and working toward your personal goals; however, you are responsible for your own choices, behaviors, and level of engagement.

Coaching is not psychological counseling, psychotherapy, medical advice, mentoring, teaching, or expert consulting. If at any point we determine that additional professional support is appropriate, we will discuss options and referrals.

2. Confidentiality

The information you share with me will remain confidential, consistent with the laws of the state in which I reside and with NBHWC Code of Ethics requirements.

I will not share the content of our sessions, nor will I disclose that you are working with me as your coach, without your permission—unless required by law (e.g., imminent harm to self/others, abuse, court order).

3. Session Structure

  • Sessions take place via Microsoft Teams.

  • Each session lasts 30 minutes, except the first session of your package, which is 45 minutes.

  • Sessions occur weekly and are scheduled in advance.

4. Expectations and Commitments

As your coach, I agree to:

  • Uphold all NBHWC ethical standards, including confidentiality, professional boundaries, and scope of practice.

  • Provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment for your growth and wellbeing.

  • Collaborate with you on goals that are meaningful, realistic, and aligned with your values.

  • Show up prepared, present, and committed to your progress.

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully.

  • Notify you promptly if I need to reschedule a session.

As the client, you agree to:

  • Arrive on time and fully present for each session.

  • Participate with honesty, self-responsibility, and openness.

  • Take ownership of your actions, decisions, and follow-through between sessions.

  • Communicate respectfully and let me know if something in the coaching process is not working for you.

  • Provide 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule.

  • Schedule makeup sessions within the same week, if available.

  • Understand that coaching is not therapy, medical advice, or crisis support.

5. Attendance, Late Arrivals & Rescheduling

I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I aim to be flexible while honoring our time and commitment.

Rescheduling

  • You may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are forfeited.

  • Any rescheduled session must take place within the same week (based on availability).

Late Arrivals

  • There is a 10-minute grace period for late arrivals.

  • After 10 minutes, the session is considered forfeited, with no refund or makeup session.

6. Payments & Refunds

  • All coaching packages must be paid in full before the first session.

  • Coaching packages are non-refundable, including unused or forfeited sessions.

  • Sessions cannot be transferred to another person.

7. Ending the Coaching Relationship

You may end coaching at any time. I may also recommend pausing or ending coaching if:

  • Coaching is no longer aligned with your needs or wellbeing.

  • Your goals fall outside my scope of practice.

  • Ethical concerns arise based on NBHWC standards.

Any unused sessions remain non-refundable.

8. Acknowledgment & Consent

By beginning coaching services, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the terms of this Coaching Agreement. You agree to participate voluntarily and responsibly, and you understand that results are dependent on your engagement and effort.
